Product price is only one part of the total.
International purchases may involve import VAT or other taxes, customs duty and carrier clearance or handling fees. The basis can include delivery costs as well as the goods. A small parcel is not automatically tax-free, and an online purchase is not a personal gift just because it is for someone you know.
What we need to check.
The exact product, ingredients, manufacturing origin, value, quantity and destination can change the import treatment. Candy containing dairy, food with animal ingredients, cosmetics and restricted items can follow different rules. Retail availability in America does not establish permission to import it elsewhere.
Charges before and after dispatch.
Before payment we will identify the charges included in your order and explain any recipient import or carrier charges that are expected to remain payable on arrival. Where law requires the seller to collect tax at sale, a recipient-pays notice does not replace that responsibility.
European Union.
EU import VAT and customs rules have changed. Do not rely on old statements that every parcel below €150 is duty-free. The applicable item classification, current low-value parcel rules and seller tax arrangements must be reviewed for the actual order.
European Commission customs guidance
Europe has several customs systems.
The United Kingdom, Norway and Switzerland have their own rules. Northern Ireland, islands and special territories may differ from the mainland regime. An EU destination page does not clear a parcel for a non-EU country, or vice versa.
